Sardinia 2014...PART 6 Cala Gonone

After a exhausting day of hiking in the Canyon Gorropu, we planned a day-trip by speedboat departure from Cala Gonone to visit the beaches beyond. There are many tour organizers offering day-trips in Cala Gonone. Most of them will bring you to Cala GoloritzeCala MarioluCala BiriolaCala Luna, and the Blue Marino cave.

We had our boat trip... sort of.

How the weather could change so tremendously was completely out of our expectation. The first two hours was so chill - speedboat on the Mediterranean sea, wind blowing in the hair, driving alongside steep cliffs and mysterious caves...

But just after we enjoyed 10 minutes on the first beach of the day, Cala Mariolu, it started to shower so hard like none of us have even experienced. The small speedboat that we chose for the advantage to get as close to the caves as possible became so miserable, because that was the only mean to get back to Cala Gonone.

And half an hour on a speedboat under the crazy storm was the most unforgettable memory of this journey.

Previous days:

Arriving at Cala Mariolu. The sea was just surreal.

I remember this was after 10 minutes driving in the storm. We tried to hide for a while in one of the caves because it was showering too much.

And then there was no more photos.. Didn't want to damage the camera!

We drove back to our farm house, but came back to Cala Gonone in the evening for dinner. Hello sunshine.
