Beijing 北京 # 1 The Forbidden City

The Forbidden City.
It's been the 12th time in Beijing for me, though probably only a blur until now. Finally going to the Forbidden City has been a dream come true, considering all the stories I grew up reading and, I'll admit, fantasy TV shows x=)

Fortunately we managed to cover all the available palaces before the closing time 4 p.m. Yet nearly half of the Forbidden City is not open for guests, which are connected with quiet alleys, locked gates, layers and layers of peeling golden tiles. These are perhaps, in my opinion, the most sincere side of faces Forbidden City has - solitary.

+++++++
