It has been a challenge to present the most touching aspects of a city down to a few shots. Challenging to me, as there are too many stories and memory along the road. For me photography is always a personal and intimate thing, with reflection on the world behind that click, and the mood at that very moment.
And hopefully it will be translated to you eventually.

Amsterdam...35mm

Despite my all-time affection for Amsterdam, it was unexpected to see its romance with the snow, the chilliness and a breath of morning sunshine. A morning-walk around the Jordaan.

冬天最冷的那几日去了阿姆斯特丹。刚化雪的天里却撞见了奢侈的冬日阳光，平日的奔放浪漫仿佛变得秀气精致。
日式杂物店的橱窗被冻得泛起了冰蓝浅粉冰淇淋色。
运河边停着供游人脚踏行驶的小船，冰渣还未化去，粼粼波光深蓝色。
窗沿化开的水渍把景色模糊成奶油般。
偶然闯入的老式住宅墙壁深红，地砖拼成大片花朵。阳光一瞬间那么刺眼，花瓣都隐去了。
败叶枯黄。矮丛森林绿。墙角透着被冬日阳光亲吻的紫色。玻璃橱窗上的人儿前卫滑稽，没有一刻忘记你在阿姆斯特丹。

Streets of Marseille #2

La Plaine district is a hippie area full of bars and clubs, and totally covered with graffiti. It was early when we visited there that nothing was even open yet. Though the streets were great to shoot at with posters on top of the graffiti. The silence brought an interesting touch to this party-till-the-dawn place under the soft morning sun.

在马赛的第二天起得还算早，为的是在城市还未苏醒之前好好拍摄打量嬉皮和年轻人聚集的La Plaine district。这里晚上是马赛夜店酒吧最聚集的街区之一，白天却唤醒精气神，一改小清新文艺风貌。几条窄小的街道没有规律得交错，道路两旁墙壁角角落落都布满了密集的涂鸦，缭乱艳丽。涂鸦上又叠着海报和大字报，海报上又被涂抹上更多的涂鸦。一幅幅的涂鸦风格各异，各不示弱又相辅相承。

早上10点的街道冷冷清清，好似残留着前一晚狂欢的一地寂寥。店门紧闭，连开店的伙计都还在沉睡。偶尔经过拎着提袋前去市场采购的阿拉伯妇人和小孩。11点左右终于开始有三三两两的人们出来晨阳中吃早餐，喝咖啡。

是个安静又惹人沉醉的上午。

Marseille Revisited. An impression of dark-green Mediterranean sea, full-flavored bouillabaisses and the unique mixture of South French and Arabic style. These pics were taken during the two days with a focus on the streets and people around them.

马赛给我的印象是阳光充足的碧绿海岸线，好喝的鱼汤，和南法特有的混合了阿拉伯风情的韵味街景。2010和2012年两次拜访都在秋天，气候已不像夏日里一样热烈，可那些鲜艳明亮色彩饱和的街道间夹杂着市井气息，仍然让人蠢蠢欲动。
天色暗下来，音乐声在杯酒间，暧昧不已。
